This morning we studied the Fertile Crescent. Ancient man spent a lot of time looking for food. In the crescent of three rivers, the Tigris, Euphrates, and the Nile, people had an abundance, or surplus (extra) food. They were able to have more time to pursue things like education, art, military, religion, specialized jobs, etc.
